Biblical Encouragement For When You’re Having a Bad Mom Day

Are you having a bad MOM day? You are tired (of course) and those adorable cherubs that keep saying, “Mom, mom, mom!” all day don’t seem to be listening to instruction very well today.

Actually they aren’t listening at all. They are disobeying. They are hitting each other. They are taking turns crying, yelling, and fussing.

And that is just the first 5 minutes of your day. Repeat and multiply that scenario and  .  .  .

YOU AS A MOM HAVE HAD IT!

Maybe you wonder if you are even doing a good job being a mom.

Maybe you think that IF you were a good mom, the days would be going better and your small, whiny children would be obedient and not so whiny.

LISTEN, MOMS! There’s a reason that a 320 lb. football linebacker who gets on camera for the first time waves and says, “Hi, Mom!” Moms are extremely and sublimely important!

You need to speak #TRUTH to yourself if you are having a bad mom day.

Here’s some #TRUTH for you today.

Everyday is a new day. “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:23

“THIS is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 (emphasis mine)

And God has promised to give you wisdom. James 1: 5 says “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”

The Holy Spirit is God’s special gift to us to help us remain peaceful in the storm of a busy life. We bear spiritual fruit in our life with the help of the Spirit. And don’t we all need it? I do! I need the love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control that comes from God.

The Top 10 Reasons Moms Are Important (and of course, there are more than ten.) by Barton Goldsmith, PhD

Barton starts with the fact that your mom gave birth to you and then quickly moves to the fact that most moms provide the emotional backbone and support  for their children.

It is All About Influence

“The profession of motherhood is all about influence. You and I have an incredible opportunity to influence the next generation by what we do as a mother every day. This is why intentionality is so important during the years that we raise our family.

  • Be intentional about your own healing from life’s hurts.
  • Be intentional about taking care of yourself.
  • Be intentional about investing in your marriage.
  • Be intentional about parenting.
  • Be intentional about homemaking.

Intentionality increases influence, and influence is something God asks us to be intentional about. We cannot underestimate the power of mother love, the value of home and the significance of our intentional presence in the home.” The Importance of Mom by Jill Savage

MOMS and KIDS: A relationship of Mutual Happiness

A child’s first source of happiness is his/her mother, and the other way around. This relationship has the strongest bond of mutual happiness.

From a College Student:  by Christiana Houser

When it comes down to it, your mom will always be one of the most important people in your life. Respect her, love her, and be there for her the way she is there for you. The bond between a mother and child is one that can never be broken or replicated, so don’t take it for granted. Tell her you love her every day and never let that mother/child bond break.

MOM FRIENDS, PART 3: Is it really that important to have other parent friends? by Taylor Seely

Companionship, Empathy, a Reminder of your individuality, and Support are all great reasons to have other mom friends.

Tatyana, mother of one:

“They’re someone who can offer advice and be an ear. Someone who knows what you’re going through.”

125 Mother’s Day Quotes

Mother’s Day is the special time of year when you get to celebrate your first best friend and the person you always turn to when you need advice.

There is a special role that God gave mothers. Our society has tried to downplay the mother’s pivotal role in their child’s life. Only one thing- we all know that our mothers genuinely made the difference in our lives. And that is the same for your children.

YOU ARE MAKING THE POSITIVE DIFFERENCE FOR THEM TOO.
