Homeschooling: “Be Not WEARY” on a Mundane Mom Day

Hi!
Do you need some encouragement today?
Me, too.

I just finished mopping the kitchen floor. Again. There was no fanfare when I finished. No golden certificate dropped out of the sky. The kids didn’t clap.

BE NOT WEARY in doing what is right!

Our job as moms includes very mundane tasks much of the time. We are the cleaners of the bathrooms, the emptiers of the trash, and the moppers of the floor.

I do recommend delegating some of these tasks as your children are able. Build in the expectation of helping around the house from a young age.  You will have less resistance to doing chores than if you wait  until the kids are 8 or 9 years old.

That being said, here is the reminder: WE NEED TO BE GETTING OUR ENCOURAGEMENT FROM THE BIBLE.
Not Facebook memes.
Not sappy Mom quotes.
Not from others, but from the One who cares about us most of all, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Here are some good reminders for all of us:
Galatians 6:9 Be not weary in doing well, for in due season, we will reap if we do not faint.

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

and one of my favorites,

James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

God has promised to help us! Hallelujah! We have His help, his Holy Spirit, His word- we need to turn to the Lord to help us and stop trying to do things on our own.

I hope this helps you today and that you are feeling ready to tackle the day ahead with the Lord helping you!

Dear Heavenly Father,
Please help us as Moms today to continually look to You for help and strength. Help us be an example to our children. Give us Your wisdom as we teach and train them. Please, Lord, give them tender hearts for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
